Persian Cat (Definite Introduction)
Persian cat, also known as Persian, Chinchilla or Himalayan, has a Latin name of Persian. In people's images, their names represent nobility. In China, most people started raising pet cats from Persian cats. However, the Persian cats raised by most breeders are not purebred Persian cats, but non-purebred Persian cats bred by some merchants to cater to the consumer market. This can be seen from their prices. In general, Purebred Persian cats cost thousands of dollars.
Like many cats, although they are called Persian cats, they are not a breed born in Persia. The Persian cat originated in Persia (Iran). It is a breed that was born through more than 100 years of selective breeding and development in the UK based on the long-haired cats native to Afghanistan and the Angora extended-haired cats in Turkey or Armenia. It is said that Queen Victoria raised two blue Persian cats, and the Prince of Wales (Edward VII) rewarded them greatly at the cat show. Since then, the reputation of Persian cats has grown, and the public has become more and more attracted to them.
CFA divides Persian cats into 7 sub-categories according to the distribution of coat color: Solid Color, Silver & Golden, Shaded & Smoke, Tabby, Parti-Color, Calico & Bi-Color, Himalayan. GCCF divides Persian cats into 12 sub-types according to the distribution of coat color: Bi-Colour, Cameo, Chinchilla, Colourpoint, Exotic (Short haired, Persian type), Golden, Pewter, Self, Shaded Silver, Smoke, Tortie Tabby, Tortie & White.
Persian cats are distributed all over the world. Although they are fiercely attacked by new cats such as Ragdolls, foreign short-haired cats, and fold-eared cats, Persian cats are "the most popular among pet owners." The position of "Welcoming Cats" has not been shaken, which is enough to prove the charm of Persian cats.
A misunderstanding about Persian cats
Many people think that the eye color of Persian cats must be unusual, but this is not the case.It is generally believed that in addition to the most familiar blue, the color of Persian cat eyes also includes amber, green, copper, gold, strange color and two eyes with different colors (mandarin duck eyes).
